Troop 5 has been selected to send a crew to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico as a part of the Connecticut Rivers Council Contingent in 2008.

This page will provide information for the crew as we prepare for an adventure to last a lifetime.

Crew Meetings:

Our regular Crew Meetings will be on the following Mondays, unless otherwise indicated:

March 10, March 24
April 7, April 28
May 12, May 19
June 9, June 23
Tuesday, July 8 - If Needed


Shakedown Hikes:

We will have plenty of opportunities to get our crew in shape - physically and mentally - before we head to New Mexico.  In addition to these crew shakedowns, each participant should be exercising regularly on their own to get ready.

Saturday, April 12 - Day hike with packs, learning how to set up camp & cook
Sat-Sun, April 26-27 - Overnight hike on the AT
Saturday, May 24 - Day hike with packs
Fri-Sun, June 20-22 - Overnight in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire (Mt. Washington)
