Drivers Needed

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

car_clipart_oldDear Troop 5,

We are in desperate need of drivers for the September camp out to Beartown VT. If your son is going on the camp out please consider driving. As of now we DO NOT have enough seats for all the scouts that want to go. Some one WILL be staying home that weekend.

If you son is not going, and you still want to volunteer to drive, please let me know. We will of course pay for fuel.

Thanks….

Sincerely,
Mr. Burns

Please respond to michelle@troop5middlebury.org if you are willing to drive

Service Opportunity

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Hi all,

Mr. Dicorpo from the church paid us a visit at last nights meeting and asked the troop for help with the church’s fall cleanup. They will be working on odds and ends and can use our help Saturday 9/5 from 9:00am- 3:00pm, and next Saturday 9/12. You do not have to be there the whole time – if everyone did an hour or two of work it would make a big difference to the church. Bring a rake, broom(put your name on these), work gloves, and a smile. They do not ask much of us throughout the year and this is a great oppurtunity to give back and say thanks. Tomorrow at noon lunch will be provided by the new pastor and his wife. We need adult volunteers as well as scouts – please let me know if you can make it either week and the time you plan to be there. Thanks for your help.
yours in scouting,

Dave Redline
Scoutmaster

Show and Sell

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

UBmicro-front-lgHello Troop 5:
Show N’ Sell season is upon us and we have some dates established in September and October:

Candy
Mrs. Peterson has some candy to sell and will be coordinating a Show N’ Sell at the Watertown Stop N’ Shop in the morning on Saturday, September 26.

Popcorn
A really simple way for your Scout to achieve his popcorn sales target is to participate in a Show and Sell event. Each Scout will receive 1/2 credit for what is sold during his shift and his partner receives the other 1/2. Popcorn Show N’ Sells will be held this year on Saturday, September 26th and Saturday, October 31. Assistant Scoutmaster Pat Dooling will be running sales locations at the Middlebury Post Office and the Watertown Stop and Shop. The following slots are available:

September 26
1 – two Scouts and two parents at post office from 9-12
2 – four Scouts and four parents at Stop and Shop from 12-3

October 31
1 – two Scouts and two parents at post office from 9-12
2 – four Scouts and four parents at Stop and Shop from 9-12
2 – four Scouts and four parents at Stop and Shop from 12-3

Thanks,
Patrick Dooling

If you are interested in signing up for any of these slots, please e-mail me at michelle@troop5middlebury.org
