Thank you

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Dear Troop 5:

I would like to say thank you. Whenever there is a need, there always seems to be someone who steps up to fill that gap. I am constantly impressed and amazed by the parents of the Troop 5 Scouts (as well as the Scouts!).

Thank you to Linda Cocchiola for taking on the Publicity Chairman role and Michael Cocchiola for bringing in a great speaker to the last meeting. Thank you to Mike and Michelle Zinko for taking on the position of Asst. Bottle Drive Chairmen.

Thank you to Adam Burns (Al Dente) for ALL he has done for the Pasta Supper. We are going to have an awesome time!!! Thank you to Ron Brandes for running the silent auction, Shelley Pille for the advertiser placemat, and Pat Dooling for helping Ron with the collection of Silent Auction monies.

See you tonight,

Maureen Marcucci, Committee Chairman

Pasta supper bakers needed

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Hi again, its just me…Al D.

I need a few bakers willing to bake a few batches of brownies. The requirements are that you have a 9 x 13 baking pan, an oven that works and the ability to get the brownies to Shepardson by 3pm on Saturday. At the current ticket sales level, I only need to have 12 batches made (I hope to have more…hint hint). I will supply the mix you do the rest. Please email me if you are interested.

A question has come up about whether or not Troop 5 Scouts and volunteers are to pay for their meals. Well, in the past; Yes, everyone pays, after all, the $$ goes to the Troop. Since I am the head macaroni, I say YES too, under one condition: you must have the ability and the willingness, to fork over the cash. If for any reason, you can’t, won’t or have a moral impedance to do so, don’t. It is up to you. One benefit is that if you are working the Pasta Supper, and there is extra desert, you get first dibbs….(extra deserts to be given out after the whole place is cleaned up!)

Thanks again for all of your support in this Troop 5 Fund Raiser!

Sincerely,

Al Dente’ (Adam)

requests

Friday, October 10th, 2008

We have a few upcoming needs:

1 – Our pasta supper is fast approaching and we need more silent auction items. Do you have a Christmas present that just wasn’t needed and is STILL in your closet? Do you know of a business that might donate a gift certificate or basket? Please contact Ron Brandes ASAP

2 – Can anyone help Ron transport silent auction items the morning of October 26th from his home in Middlebury to Shepardson Community Center? Please contact Ron. If you have a pickup truck that is most helpful.

3 – On November 1st, our sponsoring organization the Middlebury Congregational Church, is running a roadrace in Middlebury. Help is needed from 6-10 Scouts and adults. We arrive at 7:30 AM to help park cars and then to monitor the race, telling runners the correct direction. The race lasts until noon, but whatever you can do is appreciated. This counts for service hours for advancement, but check with Mr. Redline first. If you can help, please contact Karen Curry.

***PUBLICITY CHAIRMAN NEEDED – Please contact me at committeechair@troop5middlebury.org

***ASSISTANT BOTTLE DRIVE CHAIRMAN NEEDED – Please contact Tom DeAngelis

Yours in Scouting,
