Hello Troop 5:In your email you will find the minutes of the March 6th
Committee Meeting.

The tentative slate of officers was presented.
Welcome to CarolSue Shannon as co-advancement
chairman, Adam Burns as pasta supper chairman, and
Faith Bannon as merit badge counselor coordinator.
CarolSue will be training with Tom Curry for the next
year and assuming full advancement chairman
responsibilities by April 2009.

The positions of Court of Honor chair, silent auction
chair, pasta supper ticket sales, and publicity remain
open. If you wish to do your part for the Troop,
please contact me at committeechair@troop5middlebury.org
with your preference.

We need one more adult for the April Boston campout.
So far, Mr. DeAngelis, Mr. Bushka, and Mr. & Mrs.
Marcucci have volunteered, but at least one more
driver/participant is needed.

A Youth Protection class will be offerred in April.

if you are interested in attending. This is a
prerequisite to attending campouts and other events.

Marti Peterson needs volunteers for the candy sale on
March 29th. We would like to set up at two separate
locations, so many adult and Scout volunteers are
needed. Please contact her if
you can assist. If you haven’t yet taken your box of
candybars, please e-mail her to let her know. She
will send one to this Thursday night’s meeting.

We have three Klondike Derby sleds which need to be
housed until next February. Can you help? Please

A big thankyou to Mr. Baldwin, and his son for
running a CPR class for Troop 5. What a great benefit
to the Troop!!!

From Marti Peterson, Candy Drive Chairman:

I will be setting up to sell candy bars from 9-12 at
Four Corners Store on Saturday, March 8. I need one or
two adults and some scouts to help out and represent
Troop 5. The candy bars we are selling are troop candy
bars, not individual Scout family boxes. Please
contact me if you can join me. I would greatly
appreciate it. Thanks.

If anyone is available to sell in the afternoon, that
is fine too. I won’t be able to stay past 12:00 but if
there are two adults available and interested we have
permission from 4 Corners to be there all day. We need
to keep a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio between adults and scouts,
however.

***All Scouts must wear Class A uniforms.***

From Robin Redline, Outdoor Activities Chairman:Hello Everyone,

Attached is the March permission slip. The $20
cash and signed slip need to be in to me this
Thursday, March 6th. If you don’t attend the meeting
this Thursday then contact me at outdoor@troop5middlebury.org
to make other arrangements.

***We need another parent/Scoutmaster to sign up by
SUNDAY to attend the campout – specifically for the
Friday to Saturday timeslot.

Hello Troop 5:

A few announcements -

1 – If you have not paid your registration yet, please
bring a check for $75 per Scout and give it to our
Treasurer Karen Curry. She will be at the meeting
Thursday night.

2 – Please bring a check for $36 made out to Troop 5
and pick up your box of candy bars from Marti
Peterson. Marti will also be looking for volunteers
to sell the Troop candy boxes this weekend.

3 – A driver is needed for the March 9th afternoon St.
Patrick’s Day parade. Without one more driver the
boys will NOT be able to participate. Please
volunteer ASAP. Contact Patrick M, SPL.

4 – Adults are needed for the March 14-16th campout.
We need at least one more adult for Friday evening to
Saturday afternoon and a few more would be even
better. Please contact Mrs. Redline at
outdoor@troop5middlebury.org if you can assist.
