Troop 5, Middlebury, CT

Troop 5, here is a brief update on our schedule.
Please note that the Troop is meeting on Wednesdays in
December at the pool:

Saturday 12/1 – Bottle Drive 9-11 and 11-1 shifts -
Help is needed – e-mail Mr. DeAngelis

Sunday 12/2 – Pick up your popcorn order at the Way
Home in Middlebury from 10-2

***WEDNESDAYS IN DECEMBER – Troop meets at Pomperaug
Highschool Pool from 8-9:15 P.M. Come ready to swim!

Thursdays in December – NO MEETING

Hello Troop 5:

We need some help this Saturday. The upside of the
popcorn drive is that we sold $8,700. The downside is
that our faithful Popcorn distributor Chris Way has to
pick up 127 cases of popcorn in Cheshire Saturday
morning and he needs help!!! See below for details.
While you are helping Chris, feel free to drop off
your Scout at the bottle drive. Troop 5 always has a
full schedule. – Maureen Marcucci

From Chris Way:

“Anyone that is able to drive and go with me to pick
up the popcorn on Saturday morning would be
appreciated. I have 127 boxes to pickup; no way can I
do this in one trip with my small pickup.

If anyone can assist me on Saturday, they can give me
a call on Friday evening between 6 and 9 p.m.
I think if I have about 3 other cars that
would be really helpful and should take care of
things. I’ll take whatever help I can get – all they
have to do is meet me at my house at 8:30 A.M. and we
will convoy to Bozzuttos in Cheshire – about a 15
minute drive at best. Then they can drop off popcorn
at my house and go do whatever they need to do. My
family and I will handle sorting of orders, etc.”

If your son is attending the campout of December
7th-9th, the permission slip should be returned by
THIS Thursday, November 29th to Mr. Redline, Scoutmaster.

Please do the following:

I) Print the permission slip that was emailed to you (due to server issues this month, the permission slip is NOT available online)
II) Complete and sign the form.
III) Return the completed form with your $26 cash
payment by Thursday, November 29th.

Happy Thanksgiving!

There will be a Troop 5 committee meeting next
Thursday, November 29th at 7 PM at the church.

The popcorn pickup will be on Sunday, December 2nd
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the home of the Way’s.

Thanks everyone for making this an awesome popcorn
drive. In particular, congrats go out to our faithful
popcorn chairman Jackie Mulhall. It looks like we
sold around $8,700 worth of popcorn. That is an
increase of $1,700 from last year. I hope lots and
lots of that helps our families pay for summer camp!!!
Also, thank you for doing your part to help Council
pay for training, Scout Shows, camporees, and all
these great camps we use – all year round.

Hi all,

We need some help on Saturday, November 10th.

Sue Mayer and Jennie Coe will be running our Scouting
for Food collection that morning at Shepardson
Community Center in Middlebury. They are providing
the core adult coverage for this event, but will not
be there at the same time.

***Other adults are needed to provide two-deep
coverage that day from 9-11 and 11-1. Please call or
e-mail Jennie.

This is a great community event. Please help us make
this happen.

Also, if you can attend the November campout, please
contact Robin Redline at outdoor@troop5middlebury We have
three adults attending, but it would be best to have
one more. The dates of the campout are November 16-18
and it is in Norfolk, CT.
