The June 22nd issue of the Middlebury
Bee-Intelligencer has an article highlighting the
Scouting awards received by Jeff Lukens and Tom Curry.

Also, there is a photo from the June 16th bottle
drive.

Troop 5 Summer Schedule

Troop 5 Summer Schedule:

Remember you can wear Class B uniforms to the summer
meetings.

June 21st – regular meeting at church – first aid for
hiking and biking and a game are on the agenda.
***If you are going on the bike trip, please bring
your bike, bike gear (pump, spare tires, etc.) and
packed backpack (all gear to be loaded Thursday night
for the Friday trip).
June 28th – NO MEETING – Middlebury Day at Quassy -
Philmont fundraiser
July 5th – meeting at MRA – details to follow
July 12th – NO MEETING
July 19th – meeting at MRA – details to follow
July 26th – NO MEETING
August 2nd – Mandatory Summer Camp meeting for Scouts
and parents at church
August 9th – To be determined

Relay for Life on Saturday, June 23rd

From Eric D, Star Scout:

On June 23rd I will be doing my service project for
the Life Scout Rank. Troop 5 will be assisting with
the Relay for Life at Memorial Middle School on
Saturday, June 23rd from 11:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. We
will participate in a brief honor guard ceremony at 12
noon and then help entertain the younger children. I
need anyone who can attend to be there at 11:30 A.M.

***Full Class A uniform is required – we will be
marching with the flags.***

Anyone able to go, or if you have questions, please
call me. I
prefer you help for the 5 and 1/2 hours, but shifts
will work. Please let me know.

this Thursday night’s Court of Honor.*** You may RSVP
with a count of number of people and the food item you
are bringing to CarolSue Shannon

If your last name begins with A-C, bring a beverage,
D-M, a dessert, or N-Z, a salad.

Thank you!!! CarolSue needs to know how many
hamburgers and hotdogs to buy, so this is VERY
important.

B – Tom DeAngelis needs many more volunteers – adult
and scout for this Saturday’s bottle drive. Please
e-mail him for the 9-11 or 11-1
shift.

C – In your email you will find the minutes from the May
31st Troop 5 committee meeting.

***On Saturday, June 16th, Troop 5 will be having a
Bottle Drive from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Please contact Mr. DeAngelis to:

1) Scout volunteer for 9-11 or 11-1 shifts
2) Adult volunteer for 9-11 or 11-1 shifts
3) Adult with truck volunteer to transport bottles

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the
Eagle Court of Honor on June 10th and the Troop Court
of Honor on June 14th.

June 14th Court of Honor

Thursday, June 14th, is the Troop 5 Court of Honor.
It will be held at Meadowview Park in Middlebury at
6:30 P.M. Troop 5 is providing hotdogs, hamburgers,
rolls, and condiments free of charge. We need your
help to bring some additions to the menu. If your
last name begins with the following letters, please
bring the designated item. If you have more than one
Scout in the Troop, please double your item (i.e. two
plates of brownies or two side dishes)

A-C : Beverages – 2 2 liter bottles of soda or 12
pack of H20

Last Name D-M*-desserts

Last name N-Z*-side dishes or salads

Setup/Cleanup help needed for June 10th Eagle Court of Honor
